I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

When I've had purple in the past it always faded to pink, like the blue washed out first. The blue I have now starts out a vibrant cobalt and fades to more like faded denim - I quite like the effect.

brillig

an appointment to get a CPAP machine

I've had a CPAP for nearly 10 years. I don't remember if I noticed a big difference, but I can't sleep properly without it anymore. It didn't take me long to get used to it, but I've got mine on the lowest setting. Hubby had his on the highest settings, it was like trying to sleep with a gale force wind in the face.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Well, we can't turn on our taps until at least 6pm tomorrow. There's a bunch of stuff happening to get things fixed, and that's when they can test the water to see if we can use it. I took the cat to a hotel in another town tonight. After 2.5 weeks of a cold that's kept me from sleeping at least half the time, I've lost my ability to can. The cat seems to be enjoying hotel life. All kinds of new things to sniff. He's also enamored with some cat-accessible mirrors. Understandable--he's a handsome fella. I'm enjoying being on a pokestop and having running water.

Man, Calli. Enjoy your stay? Gah.

Shoot, I meant to go to the gym but I didn't. Oops. Tomorrow.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Home from hospital. All went pretty well, though the surgery took a bit longer than planned, because it turns out I had a touch of endometriosis and didn't know it. Which explains certain symptom patterns I'd always just accepted as Normal For Me. And my anesthesiologist thinks I also have a touch of sleep apnea. The recovery team was a bit anxious about my heart rate and blood pressure (both high in the aftermath) and since I could sense their anxiety it made ME have a bit of a panic attack which made things worse, but once we got that sorted out and I made it to my room in recovery I suddenly became this model patient with nice normal to low blood pressure, no nausea, and manageable pain. The hospital had good wifi! And prompt room service with a varied selection of soothingly bland foods! I'm glad I was able to go home right on schedule, but as hospitals go it was really quite pleasant.

I've been home for about six hours, during which time I've eaten a bowl of soup and a salad, watched the first episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, re-read vol 1 of Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, and slept several hours. Tomorrow's goal=more Netflix and reading, plus a shower. Mainly my abs just hurt like hell, and you never realize just how much you use your abs every time you change positions until you have a bunch of little holes in them.
