Ahem.
What I was trying to say, and perhaps it did not come across as I intended, was that I know there are sane and rational individuals who work for DHS and surely that will keep any inter-institutional conflict from going completely off the rails.
Okay, I'm going to eat lunch and then donate some money to some orgs who do work on immigration and support refugees. And then maybe I'll try to do more work?
Now I'm seeing all kinds of stuff about an anti-LGBT Executive Order coming this week. What will be going on behind the scenes while we are out protesting? Stop the planet, I want to get off.
My company CEO--the CEO of the whole corporation, of which my own company is one part--just released a statement saying that anyone affected by the immigration order will have the corporation advocating directly with the STate Department on their behalf and that the company will provide comfort and security wherever they're stranded. #NotAllHumans
That's always good to hear, Connie.
OK, I don't even like her, but I was glad to hear that my Sudanese colleague is in town right now. (I could legitimately thank her for my new job, since they asked me about 100 different questions about working with difficult people, and I mostly used her for my examples.)
Hah--that would be quite a thank you, Jesse!!
I, too, am wanting to stop the world. Serious wtf. I should. It let the president ruin my health but I want to drink heavily and eat bad foods.
Also my new work project is INSANE. Meeting minutes should not be 25 page documents. And agendas should not take three people to review and several hours to prepare. At least, not for a meeting that happens WEEKLY.
Timelies all!
Toys everywhere. Does no good to put them back in the toybox, as Mr. S will just upend it. Sigh...

I think this bit of bigotry will be wrapped up in "religious freedom to fire people or not work with them or not honor the law because of religious reasons."
