So, apparently, this is going around: 50 U.S. Code ยง 3021. National Security Council
The Council shall be composed of-
(1) the President;
(2) the Vice President;
(3) the Secretary of State;
(4) the Secretary of Defense;
(5) the Secretary of Energy; and
(6) the Secretaries and Under Secretaries of other executive departments and of the military departments, when appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to serve at his pleasure.
Bannon needs to be approved of by the Senate.
It's really just a guideline.
Argh, I am almost out of Adderall and my doctor is apparently no longer with Kaiser; they will call me back some time in the next 5 days to tell me who my new doctor is and (I hope) give me an appointment. Really should have started this process earlier, I guess.

What I was trying to say, and perhaps it did not come across as I intended, was that I know there are sane and rational individuals who work for DHS and surely that will keep any inter-institutional conflict from going completely off the rails.

Now I'm seeing all kinds of stuff about an anti-LGBT Executive Order coming this week. What will be going on behind the scenes while we are out protesting? Stop the planet, I want to get off.
My company CEO--the CEO of the whole corporation, of which my own company is one part--just released a statement saying that anyone affected by the immigration order will have the corporation advocating directly with the STate Department on their behalf and that the company will provide comfort and security wherever they're stranded. #NotAllHumans
