Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My oatmeal carbonara meets your criteria, then?

Can Meryl Streep give all the speeches from now on? That would be for the best.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My mental health doesn't want me to seek out Trump's actual response, but I read something on FB this morning that said Trump called Streep a "Hillary lover."

...like that's an insult? (I get that, for him [if that's what he said], it's meant to be an insult. But it's just funny, because...DUH, you giant horrific dumpster fire. OF COURSE she's a Hillary lover.)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I caught an episode of Globe Trekker that was all about CHEESE - going to a cheese fair in England, visiting cheesemakers in France, Italy, Switzerland and Greece ... and tasting both the cheeses and dishes made with the cheeses. yum!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Apparently I have Feelings about carbonara.

Totally legit!

Ha, I had Nora's feelings about carbonara, but I didn't want to seem like I was being persnickety. Who was I kidding, that's who I am and that's who we are. (We do make ours with peas at home, because that way you get a VEGETABLE in one dish.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The oatmeal carbonara sounds intriguing to me, but I think it might be better with polenta as a base.

brillig

I need to stop shuttling between multiple weather sites. One page has less than an inch of snow on Wednesday. Another site has 5-8 inches of snow for a spot five miles away on Wednesday. Utah has freaky weather, but a storm putting down half a foot of snow is not going to be impressed by town boundaries.

That does sound good, sj. Mmm, polenta. The recipe I have calls for steel-cut oats and rolled oats and oat bran, and I'm going to have to try following the recipe exactly at least once to find out how all that works together before I experiment...

Y'all, my co-worker gave me the best compliment on my outfit. I came in wearing my purple rainjacket and purple rainshoes and carrying my purple purse, and put all that away to put on houndstooth pumps that match my houndstooth skirt and reveal my blue sweater and blue tights that pretty much match the blue streak in my hair. He said I look like a well-designed comic character. At last I know how to describe my personal style!

That's an awesome compliment, -t.
