You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, Jesse, that's pretty sweet! Good luck!

I have decided to indulge myself with the vending machine piroshki, which was still available. Also a cherry coke and a twix. Because indulging.

ETA: piroshki is much better than I expected! I'm gonna have to remember this brand.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Happy birthday, shrift!

Crossing fingers, Jesse! I have similar w/retirement under the new contract, except I was vested immediately (though I'm not sure if that's true for fresh employees, I think they have a probationary period. Us transfers did not.)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Good luck, Jesse!

I'm doing the boring administrative stuff of being an executor, like closing Dad's Comcast and ATT accounts. But I also have found FREE MONEY. Dad had two life-insurance policies I knew about, but I just found a statement for another one, that seems to be fully paid up, and it dates back to 1960 (!). The payout is $22K. Which, I'm really glad I looked in that folder!

So many phone calls to make and faxes to send, and so much business I cannot do until I get the death certificates... Sigh.

When my paternal grandfather died, found tons of old stocks and pensions we didn't know about. Was a nice windfall for my grandmother.

Fuck, I found another bag of catfood that the mouse has been raiding (this is what happens when you had elderly cats and impromptu fosters. Random half full bags of catfud.)

Next long weekend, I'm cleaning and reorganizing the basement end to end and taking my neighbor up on his offer of his truck for a dump run. I have an old mattress set, tv and countless dead appliances to get out of here.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

They were finding stuff my grandfather had squirreled away for years.

I'm watching this, expecting to cringe, but kinda love. [link] My parents are pretty internet savvy, but my mom still refuses Facebook because she hates the pressure of friends requests, no matter how many times we tell her she can ignore them, but that way she can see all the cousin pictures without us having to email them.

Yeah, I dunno.
