They were finding stuff my grandfather had squirreled away for years.

I'm watching this, expecting to cringe, but kinda love. [link] My parents are pretty internet savvy, but my mom still refuses Facebook because she hates the pressure of friends requests, no matter how many times we tell her she can ignore them, but that way she can see all the cousin pictures without us having to email them.
Yeah, I dunno.
My father had several bank accounts around town that he didn't tell Mother about--and no one else, for that matter. I'm not sure if she found documents somewhere or if the banks called her once word got around he was dead (a benefit of small towns). We always complained about Daddy being cheap, but I felt bad about it once I realized he was paranoid about saving money. Depression-era parents have their reasons.
I'm wearing an ice grey collared fleece, zipped up. My still brunette hair tucked in a headband with a touch of poof.
In the reflection in the (needs to be cleaned) kitchen window, I saw Leila from ESB on Hoth. And it made me smile. My childhood makebelieve was often Star Wars, and I always was bosslady, Leila. She was my preferred character growing up. And her portrayer was a force.
Funny, I haven't really thought much about her death, but that moment in the window. Thanks, dad and Carrie, for giving me Leila.
Would that my Depression-era parents had ever learned to squirrel away money. They're very thrifty about wasted food, however!
My great aunt had 20k or so in uncashed checks stashed around. Most of them long past being valid. She had a pension and other income, so I'm glad at least that she wasn't struggling while having all that lying around.
Agh. I got a gift from one of the people who sorta reports to me. Not even one of the ones I feel like I have a bit of rapport with! People! Don't gift up!! Now what do I do? Get her an awkward belated gift?? And then maybe have to get one for everyone? Ugh.
belated job~ma Jesse!
36 hours to go in this project and then I get Hamilton. This is not a drill. I can do this.
{i hate all my words, my words are broken, what day is it?}
Almost Hamilton Day, apparently!!!
meara, ugh, that is super awkward. I think at this point you can safely pretend it never happened.
Meara - if you ever see the person in person, take them to lunch.
