I'm on vacation through the 3rd!!!!
I'm wrapping up school work that is due this week and then I'm on school vacation through the 1st, though I should get a jump on a paper that will be due on the 8th.
Presents are all purchased and wrapped. I'm not cooking on Christmas. Once again C has asked to cook - like I'd say no. We aren't traveling anywhere, aren't having any added guests, just us. So it is pretty calm.
I am going to see if any friends want to do a low-key game night for NYE.
From over the cubicle wall: "He may be from the future, but he's from a trailer park in the future." And "200 years in the future, everyone is living in a walled city occupying a virtual world. Except for you. You're the IT guy for the virtual world."
Yay, I get to go home early today! I can get to the store and get home before the rain rolls in. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow over the weekend, and I want to have goodies on hand so I can nosh and drink tea and watch LotR all weekend.
I completely refuse to let this fucking year have Carrie Fisher.

PO - WHERE! a woman says she likes my hat (Santa hat, natch) and then tells me she just got bad news from the hospital and me dressed up brightened her day AND SHE HUGGED ME AND STARTED CRYING. Y'all I hugged a stranger and was nice about it and I had not been drinking.

I have Christmas party at 7, so I am gonna have some win and start getting ready in an hour.
Aw, you are bringing joy into the world.
I am a fucking joy all the goddamn time.
You ARE the nicest!
The boy child, yes, 20-year old child, is registered for the Spring semester, his books are ordered, and he just needs to figure out how to pay his tuition (his financial aid is in a knot at the moment). But this is farther than he got last semester. I had to prod him, not too hard but without prodding it wouldn't have gotten done.
Was talking with one of my PMs about our kids - we had our second children about the same time and even bumped into eachother at Children's Hospital when each were inpatients (CJ, after his spinal surgery and her son with a crazy high temp). She has the same issue with her kids - one is highly motivated and organized, the other needs prodding to get anything accomplished.
