Oh jeez -- I almost said something to my team member who reads Ask A Manager to make sure the new team members know not to give gifts up the chain of command, but that seemed presumptuous. And then one of them just gave me a gift! Which I'm sure she thought she had to after I gave her one yesterday! Argh.

There's a fish pedicure place in town, and I didn't even know it until I got a Groupon offer for it today. I've wanted to do that for YEARS. So I pounced on that Groupon in a hot second. SO EXCITE.
I could use one of those to deal with the dead skin on my feet.
That's totally why I'm doing it.
Is there a special name for that? Or should I google "fish pedicure"? Cause now I want one.
I want a fish pedicure so bad!
Doh, Jesse!!
My manager gave me a $15 GC to amazon. Which is cool, but I think it's probably her own money (and she has like 15 reports?). And then I feel guilty I didn't. Uh anything for any of my people? But...(they are not my direct reports, they are working for me on this project, but still)
I wouldn't get anything for someone who wasn't a direct report. (And I might not have this year, due to paying out of pocket for other stuff this fall that the org used to pay for, except I did it last year and some of the people are the same ....)
My horrible old boss gave really nice gifts. This good boss gives nothing. I prefer getting nothing and having a considerate boss.
I am out shopping, mostly for myself, but also small stuff for Mac and finishing off the parents with gift cards and donations. Got nails done all silver and I have my one party tonight.
