It's only 23 degrees outside, but the sun is pouring into my place so it's bright and warm. There are four hours of GBBO Christmas Masterclasses on PBS and I'm boiling eggs to make deviled eggs. I see no reason to leave the house today.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Lovely, Connie.

I have to vacuum: the dog hair is everywhere. And then off to agility class, to be scolded by the trainer for not having practiced at ALL in three weeks.

So that tanker crash this morning? Was a part of a 55 car pileup (not clear if it was initial or subsequent part.) 2 died. It got caught on film by someone who pulled over on the opposite ramp and was in the process of calling 911 to report other accidents. Completely insane conditions.

Y'all, I have hit the boredom stage.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

It's only 23 degrees outside

It's now up to 21° here. It's practically a heat wave.

My deviled eggs are a success! There will be a little fine tuning, and I need to make sure the eggs are much cooler before peeling. Is there a way to get the yolks more centered inside the egg? The walls of my egg whites were too thin to hold on some. Perhaps cooling longer will take care of that.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We actually had no problem finding parking at the mall (we lucked out and someone as leaving right as we got there), and had no problem finding parking at Trader Joe's. So now my hair is beachy blonde again and we have all the TJs yumminess we need for the holidays.

And it's freaking 58 degrees here. SO WEIRD.

Walked to the Ace and back. Still fidgety. So I went back out and walked briskly around the track for about 45 minutes, which is probably a little over 3 miles. It helped.

hip deep in pie

I just went to the mall to mail my secret Buffista Santa package and there was no line! It's a Christmas miracle. The fact that we've had about 5-6 inches of snow since this afternoon may have something to do with it. Then I had to shovel before it started raining. Now I just have to clean most of my house and finish packing. Ahhhhh!

I-29 from Kansas City to parts north was backed up 30 miles last night. People were sitting basically still for 9 hours.

M was supposed to arrive at 10 tonight from Philly, but the airline realllly didn't want an unaccompanied minor flying...and we really didnt want to drive north to the airport at 9 pm. It's really bad here already, and snow is pouring down over the ice. It's 10 degrees and still dropping.

He's coming in tomorrow morning, and I'm so relieved.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Turns out, I am Amelia Bedelia -- my mother had made a list for me, which included cutting branches off the bottom of the Christmas tree and also decorating it. I checked off "trim" after cutting the branches off, which was not correct! That was "branch."
