Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hi Gris! Hope South America is treating you and yours well!
I don't want to be awake. I'm very tempted to call in sick to work but I don't think I can because half the staff is evacuating (company is based in Wilmington NC) and if our clients who are not there need us I need to be available. Grr.
Huh, Journey and Def Leppard are touring together? Did not see that coming.

Is a time rift involved? Does buying a ticket give you the coordinates to a time portal you have to enter to see the concert?
The final word on the tuna/cinnamon bagel thing
I mean, I guess it's a flavor profile that exists in various cuisines, but I wouldn't eat it on a dare.
Tasks for the weekend are starting to line up. I need to fix a toilet, fix my car, make a Faraday cage, finish up making a cabinet, make a control panel, set up a web server, and do some staining. Also want to fit in some time to work on beta board migration and maybe some writing along with the usual cleaning, laundry, dishes, and cooking.

I would like the figure I had during their native time (or heck, just the face) and in exchange, I would be willing to wear an era-appropriate costume (including shoulder pads, because I have no shoulders).
However, someone else is going to have to do my hair.
So my daughter transferred from Mass College of Art & Design to UMass for her sophomore year.
She is in a suite with five other girls. She and her roommate want to transfer to a double somewhere on campus.
On her transfer form, she accidentally checked off that the box stating she is a felon. (She's not. She has never even had a parking or speeding ticket.)
Now, she has to submit to a background check, in order to get that removed. There's no background to check, but it seems strange that she needs a background check to clear up a mistake she made. It's not like the University got some wrong information from a law enforcement agency. She checked a box she shouldn't have checked.
Does this sound typical?
Seemingly, the National Weather Service had an, um, interesting graphic for Florence.
Cindy, it doesn't sound unusual to me. They need to make sure your daughter just made an error and isn't trying to put one over on the college.
Annoying and time consuming. Shouldn't be anything to worry about, and a good object lesson in why you should read the document carefully.
That is true. Thank you, Fred.
I told her (via text) to make sure she clears it up, even if she and the roomie decide not to move, just because she doesn't want to have to be explaining it for the rest of her life.
Her response was, "I'm aware."
I'm waiting for the cookies I surely earned by not cracking, "Too bad you weren't that aware when you filled out that form."
