Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So much antibiotics-do-their-job~ma for your dad, Kate.

All the non-specific~ma in my heart for PixDesign.

One of my college roommates made her gown and her flowergirl's dress. The little dress was much more elaborate than the gown. Also, she did all her flowers. Not to mention the term leading up to her wedding she was student teaching and working 30 hours a week. (College guidelines were no other jobs when student teaching, but she did it anyway.) Two weeks before the end of term, Sunday morning rolls around. Her honey calls to make sure she's awake so they can go to church together. Little while later, she comes out of the bathroom to tell me that she had taken her bath, and noticed only when she was getting up to towel off that she'd had her nightgown on the whole time.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I think I have a new standard for "too much. No more brain"

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

It isn't a big deal if treated promptly.

Yeah, getting my dad to go get something looked at or treated when necessary can be hard, but this got serious real quick, so at least he recognized it was time for the ER again. This is now his third bout of cellulitis in less than a year, so it looks like from now on he's just going to be more susceptible to it than most folks. Anyway, he seemed to be feeling a little better today. We won't really know until tomorrow if he's responding well to this particular antibiotic, but I'm cautiously hopeful.

So much ~ma for your dad, Kate! And one to you. It's so hard when a parent is ill.

Thanks, Pix. (And thanks to everyone for the good thoughts! I really appreciate it.) It's no fun, but it helps that for once I'm actually here instead of a thousand miles away. Rose and I went to see him in the hospital tonight, and that was reassuring.

Lots of non-specific ~ma to you too, Pix and ND.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

General~ma to Pix and ND.

Spreadable cheese and fig paste sounds delicious. I'll have to keep an eye out for some when I head out of the weekly shop in a few minutes.

Here's hoping your dad is back in good health quickly Kate.

Non-specific~ma to Pix and ND.

This is turning out to be a good morning. The old grandad alley cat showed up for feeding and petting, I got to the farmers market in time to get a good supply of tomatoes and the really good orchard had peaches for a reasonable price. Then the drunken proposition I passed on last night turned into a sober-and-miraculously-not-hungover proposition this morning, conveniently located within a half mile of the market. Ah, younger guys and their quick recovery from drinking...

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hope all is well, PixDesigns!

I found a local tattoo artist on Instagram whose work is GORGEOUS but I think he might also be a right-wing gun nut? A right-wing gun nut who paints beautiful watercolor butterflies and one spot-on "Darla as Wednesday Adams" so hopefully we just won't talk politics while I'm getting new ink.

Our wings are not tired.

Excellent morning indeed, Matt!

Mine is going okay. Have to get to work on my dress making.

Son is settling in at his new apartment. I picked him up from work last night, but he texted me this morning that his roommate was taking him to work this morning. They have a compatible schedule where he can get a ride most days. Roomy was delayed a few days moving in for the worst possible reason. He was getting the place with son because he couldn't stand living at home with his brother any more because they fought all the time. Then Monday his 14 yo brother died. Don't know what happened yet. Of course, grief is that much more complicated when the relationship was bad. I'll see him tomorrow to give him hugs when I bring more stuff over to the apartment.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

How awful, Laura.

I have to say how impressed I am with you and Debet, not only making dresses, but Special Occasion dresses!!

Our wings are not tired.

I end up making special occasion dresses because I hate shopping. It never seems possible to find what I want, and the whole trying on things, ick. I made my graduation dress, which I loved so much. Two of my wedding gowns I picked the fabrics and design, but friends made them for me, although I helped.

I have it laid out!! What a pain. 5 pieces on a folded section of fabric and 10 pieces on a single thickness section. 10 because it was a bunch of one piece one direction and the same piece reversed. I guess it was the most efficient use of fabric, but good grief. I anticipate the actual sewing to be like 10% of the project.
