I was listening to CNN in the car on the way home earlier and the newscaster was saying that every time she had the privilege to interview Bourdain she ended the interview with, "next life I want to be Anthony Bourdain", and she shares this feeling with a lot of us. She had to be rescued by her co-hosts a couple of times because she was losing it.
It is storming here and the dog is as close as physically possible to me while leaving the keyboard in my lap available.
I'm on a direct news moratorium for the foreseeable future. There's enough going on in my life that I'm having trouble with to attempt to process more real world news that I can't affect directly.
flea, that's fantastic news. Thanks for bringing us happy stuff!
Laura, yay, you! That's wonderful.
See? News here is better. Although I am saddened by Bourdain.
I mowed like half the lawn and took a break to lie down for a bit and now I have a cat sleeping on me so I may be done with moving for a while.

My big brother really likes tvtropes, and would refer to it constantly when talking about writing projects, especially the one we're both working on. I finally told him the story and asked him to stop bringing the damn site up.
I haven't had to tell the story yet, but I've had to step out of a couple conversations on the Ao3 tag wrangling chat when they're hip-deep in links.
In other news, I just saved the theatre $400 a year that we were spending in possibly the stupidest way possible (paying for redundant services that we almost never use anyway is great business sense)
Thanks, Kat. It's just always in the back of your mind when you're a disabled parent. It was also TCG's first thought. People are very judgementsl about adaptions I have to make as a parent. It's not uncommon for ltc to get pitying looks for having me as a parent.
I am sorry if I came across as dismissive... I was more thinking about how often we've had people in and out of the house with evaluations for Grace. It's hard not to feel like I'm being judged all the time, and if I worried about it, it would be crazy making. We too are familiar with the pitying looks.
Thanks. My mom yelled at me and told me I was being ridiculous. So I'm extra sensitive right now.
I actually have never seen Bourdain's shows, but had seen and heard enough of him being interviewed and quoted that the news was still a damn shock. It struck me the same way that news of Robin Williams' suicide did.
