My big brother really likes tvtropes, and would refer to it constantly when talking about writing projects, especially the one we're both working on. I finally told him the story and asked him to stop bringing the damn site up.

I haven't had to tell the story yet, but I've had to step out of a couple conversations on the Ao3 tag wrangling chat when they're hip-deep in links.

In other news, I just saved the theatre $400 a year that we were spending in possibly the stupidest way possible (paying for redundant services that we almost never use anyway is great business sense)

Thanks, Kat. It's just always in the back of your mind when you're a disabled parent. It was also TCG's first thought. People are very judgementsl about adaptions I have to make as a parent. It's not uncommon for ltc to get pitying looks for having me as a parent.

I am sorry if I came across as dismissive... I was more thinking about how often we've had people in and out of the house with evaluations for Grace. It's hard not to feel like I'm being judged all the time, and if I worried about it, it would be crazy making. We too are familiar with the pitying looks.

I actually have never seen Bourdain's shows, but had seen and heard enough of him being interviewed and quoted that the news was still a damn shock. It struck me the same way that news of Robin Williams' suicide did.

Okay peeps! Good news Laura back again to report that the CT of my arteries they made me take because of being obese and having high cholesterol for 20 years came back a big fat ZERO. As in nadda, none, zip calcium buildup in these here arteries. All that heart healthy crap like avocado, nuts, fish, and Vitamin K2 apparently works. I've avoided having all this testing crap done for years but this year with all the heavy duty exercising I thought it might be good to make sure I wasn't going to drop. No, I still won't be jogging any time soon.

Oh sj, I am sorry. If worrying about how we parent is ridiculous then welcome to the ridiculous club. Good parents suffer all the time over whether they are adequate. Suckiest part is it doesn't even stop when they are grown! We still fret about all the decisions we made and whether we screwed them up!

BTW, even without the douchenozzle Faker McFakerabidmonkeypants Gus aspect, it's still damn weird to see it as this huge thing. Many of us here were some of the first wiki admins!
