Looks like my daughter's car stereo is working now. Trouble was the harness wiring which I paid to have pre-done. Ending up wiring it myself anyways after a bunch of extra hassle. At least I didn't pay much for that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My mom is having a book launch tomorrow, so I just made cupcakes for that, and then she asked me to take her out to dinner tomorrow, so I made reservations for that. Phew.

Watching the British Who Do You Think You Are? One episode has the comedian Ruby Wax, who discovers that the reason her parents were so volatile and abusive were because they barely got out of Austria before the Holocaust, they weren't able to get family out, and her mother suffered from severe heredity mental issues that Ruby herself suffers from. As she said "One conversation where my mother told me just a little of this would have re-written my entire life." She just thought her parents were horrible people, not people who had suffered horrors.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

but I would lose my goddamn mind if all I could eat was meat and cheese, with a handful of salad for variation. Also, that sounds like a recipe for nutritional deficiencies.

That is the nutty hardcore version of ketogenic, which I can't just do and raise my eyebrows at. I eat a lot of veggies (roasted cauliflower, om nom nom) and berries along with my meat and cheese.

Okay, I thought keto allowed more non-starchy veggies than just a handful of greens, and allowed some fruit. Because my brother did keto for a while and mentioned eating keto pumpkin pie, yum.

Well, my friend says she loves the diet, so as long as she doesn't get scurvy, good for her.

I mean, both can be true.

I mean, both can be true.

She did say that just because she understood them, she didn't forgive them for everything.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Keto when you're actually in full-on ketosis at all times is a lot more restricted than what a lot of what's called keto these days, is. Not even a huge amount of protein in that.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, Amazon. I've recently purchased a couple of Tana French novels and I just looked up the series boxed set of Orphan Black. The "related items" Amazon is now showing me are a whole lot of knives. That's dark, man.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ha, aurelia! That's kind of awesome.
