Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

He's on the 5 and a half year plan at this point. Which is fine since he started young (and is only 21). He will look to transfer to a UC to finish his degree.

Right on.

For those who thought the Salad Shooter was too sophisticated, may I present, the Fondoodler, the hot glue gun for cheese. [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Right on.

It's all the rage out here. Start at cheaper college, then transfer into a UC after a couple years of much lower tuition. Graduate with UC degree for resume.

He's actually thinking about going to medical school. He wants to become a Psychiatrist. I'm not sure how that's going to pan out. He's certainly smart enough, but I'm not sure he's the kind of grinder that can plow through Medical School happily. But - on the other other hand - he has really turned his academics around the last two years with increased focus and interest.

Fondoodler deserves a place in the Marketing Product Name Hall of Fame.

Latest update on Emmett: He got antibiotics on top of the steroids and the painkillers because the x-rays showed incipient pneumonia.

The bleeding came from his very raw tonsils as we suspected.

His professor is going to let him take a makeup test.

EM is driving up on Saturday to take care of him and make him cold and soothing smoothies.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

So we still have not received our security or pet deposits back, and we have not heard a peep from him.

Anyone want to glance at my email draft and see if there are any things I should add or delete? _______

I am writing to request the immediate return of our security deposit and pet deposit for XXXX W. XXst Street, Prairie Village, KS XXXXX.

Today is May 9, 2018. My husband, XXXX, and I vacated the premises on March 15, 2018. We hired a cleaning service who came and cleaned on Monday, March 19, 2018, and we did a walk-through with you at the residence at 6 pm March 20, 2018. We paid rent on this residence until March 31, 2018. I texted you the last week of March to request an update on the security deposits the last week of April 1018, but neither Dan or I have received any communication from you since the walk-through.

I need to hear from you ASAP regarding the return of the deposit. Kansas Tenant law is very clear about the time limit for a landlord to (A) return deposits, and (B) to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with tenants about any deductions taken from said deposits. You have not made any attempt to do so. Any further communications with myself or D should be made via written communications only, please.

Thank you.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

In college, I had strep on top of mono, and the 2 things that felt good to eat were creamsicles and fries (not together) -- the fries because the salt helped the swelling but the fries were soft compared to, say, pretzels or other snack-food salt delivery systems.

I always maintained that college was probably the best time to get mono, because yes, there are classes to go to, but not 8 hours a day like with high school or a job after graduation. I could go to class and then come home and nap and then go to my later classes, etc. For me, at least, a college schedule was a lot more flexible/forgiving than high school or having a full-time job.

Even so, mono blows. Poor Emmett.
