In college, I had strep on top of mono, and the 2 things that felt good to eat were creamsicles and fries (not together) -- the fries because the salt helped the swelling but the fries were soft compared to, say, pretzels or other snack-food salt delivery systems.
I always maintained that college was probably the best time to get mono, because yes, there are classes to go to, but not 8 hours a day like with high school or a job after graduation. I could go to class and then come home and nap and then go to my later classes, etc. For me, at least, a college schedule was a lot more flexible/forgiving than high school or having a full-time job.
Even so, mono blows. Poor Emmett.
For those who thought the Salad Shooter was too sophisticated, may I present, the Fondoodler, the hot glue gun for cheese.
That is so ridiculous and perfect.
Kansas Tenant law is very clear about the time limit for a landlord to (A) return deposits, and (B) to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with tenants about any deductions taken from said deposits.
You might as well quote the law there, just to let them know what the time limit is?
I just slapped that subsection of the statute in there. And added this line: "Henceforth, please communicate via writing with either Dan or myself. Our email addresses that you have had since 2015 are still both current and active, our phone numbers that you have used to communicate via text with us since 2015 are both still valid, and our current mailing address is X."
Is "If we have not heard from you within 48 business hours, our next communication with you will be via our lawyer" too bitchy?

Yeah, I'd cite the exact statute so he knows you're not bluffing. Know any lawyers who'll let you send it on their letterhead, just to drive it home?
We have a lawyer, but it's not a close enough relationship to use his letterhead without a big ol' fee for it.
I correctly cited the statute, and included a paste of the relevant subsection.

Did you get to use the "§" glyph? ita would have approved!
I did! Though I c&p, didn't use the keyboard...;)
Just paid $2300 yesterday for my truck repair. Got a quote to replace two sides of my fence for over $5000. Y'all I am THROUGH with this being a grownup thing. I resign. Who do I see to hand over my keys (and bills)?
Whaaaaat. The foster people haven't been emailing about kittens. Today they sent an email at 11:04 saying they had 9 sets of kittens that needed to be picked up today between 1-6pm. I responded at 11:05 saying I could pick them up as soon as needed. She just wrote back saying they'd all been placed?!? Noooooooo
(Darkly running away muttering about kitten corruption)
