We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I just want to give you all hugs. I've barely been online this week, but my most sincere condolences to everyone struggling right now.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am exhausted. My mind wouldn't settle down last night. And it seems to be a problem amongst a number of people of my acquaintance . A combination of the weather, the election and who knows what else?
Yeah, same. Plus the time change seems to be taking longer than it should to feel normal. By about 5pm I feel like it's midnight.

My massage therapist recommends this stuff, CALM [link] It comes in different flavors and she mixes with caffeine free tea to drink before bed. I have not tried it, but may get some this weekend.

Not sure if y'all heard about some girls in Texas snapchatting in blackface and getting expelled from college. I have a relative at that college and they have been involved. 3 girls were in the room, 2 white and 1 black. all friends. They were doing mud masks that night and decided to be stupid on snapchat. The 2 white girls have been expelled and the black girl is on suspension. The whole campus apparently is very tense with accusations of racial bias from both the black student groups and the larger student council because the black girl was not expelled.

I take a magnesium/calcium supplement before bed, and it generally helps. One important thing about magnesium: if you take too much, it will give you the shits.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Best time with friends: meet directly after work for drinks, home by 8. Perfect!!

I think I need to go buy more magnesium. I'm never sure what actually helps me sleep better. But at this point I'll take most anything.

I am even thinking of getting a new mattress, sleeping on the IKEA one that sarameg has (not at her place!) was nice and made me think that might be one more piece that would help.

Also, big thumbs down to my body and the migraine it gave me, where I had to leave the singalong I was at last night abruptly, and still felt so shitty this morning at the doctor appointment I had that I was pretty sure I was going to hurl. But big thumbs up to my migraine medication which is like magic. Took it after the appointment, laid down, and 90 minutes later I was renewed!

Boooo, body!

I'm getting increasingly bummed out that I don't think my new internet mattress is working out. Although it could be more the part where my cat has decided to sleep on top of me at all times, even when I'm lying on my side.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. It IS getting better. The training I have to do with the new girl tomorrow, I actually know ahead of time what I need to do. And a lot of it will be her reading (oh, so much reading) and filling out worksheets on what she is reading. So I will be able to actually do things with the people who live there, during the direct care portions of my schedule.

Matt, how horrible for your friend.

typing with gloves because it is that cold in my apartment! I had the air on last night because it was too warm to sleep with the window open. I don't think I need to have it opened tonight! I will take the AC out of the window tomorrow and close the storm windows.
