I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

And I failed. Great.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry, -t. I hope an alternate plan presents itself.

I need a new background noise tv option for the morning. I used to watch Morning Joe, but still on a news blackout. HGTV seems obsessed with tiny houses which are not appealing to my oversized world. Food channels are good, but I already gained 9 pounds since mom died, so not a great plan. Right now I have BBC on with ST:TNG on which is good for the moment.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

-t, I would suggest that was not your failure, but rather bad luck/overwhelming demand. Assuming that 12:22 was already too late.

I need a new background noise tv option for the morning.

I don't know if it's the same during the week, but on the weekend, Buzzr often has old "To Tell The Truth" and similar calm shows on in the morning. If it's "Press Your Luck" or whatever, I would vote no, but anything with Dorothy Kilgallen gets a thumbs up from me.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I expect eclipse viewing sites move pretty quickly. Astro folks are a dedicated lot.

I see some GIBO on YouTube. Is that the best place to find it?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMFG, scheduling this meeting -- WITH THREE PEOPLE -- is going to kill me.

Me: schedules meeting for Monday afternoon, because I've only heard from one person and need to get something on the calendar
Person A: Can we do Monday or Tuesday morning? I'm not available Monday afternoon
Person B: Monday afternoon would be fine or early Tuesday morning or later Tuesday afternoon.
Me: Can everyone due Tuesday at 9am?
Person B: It is Grandparents Day at my grandson's school and I think I need to be there at 9:30a. I can't be late or he will have a nervous breakdown. I can do a call on Monday afternoon or Tuesday afternoon.

Arrrgggghhhhhh. OK, fair enough that maybe Person B meant 8am by "early Tuesday morning," but fucking say that!

Aimed at the alphabet people meeting with Jesse.

We did have a backup plan although right now I don't remember what it was. Ultimately, if we end up viewing the eclipse from a rest area off of I-5, well, that actually worked quite well when mom and I did that for the annular eclipse a few years ago, so that would probably be fine and achievable. And, yeah, bad luck and overwhelming demand (12:06 was actually too late but I kept trying for a while just invade) but also I had one job, you know? At least I am the one who is most disappointed.

Ooh, are there archives of Bob Ross anywhere? Happy little trees and so forth would be nice background tv, yeah?

I feel like there are, but I can't remember where.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Bob Ross is on Netflix.
