Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

So I'm gonna store it up and trot it out when I'm really pissed about something because that's the mature and healthy thing to do, right?

Fuck, yes. Hell, next time I'm in OH, I'm tempted to leave that picture of you and Katie on your wedding day right at the front door. Just so she doesn't forget again.

Sophia, a root canal means the nerves are dead. Are you sure that something else isn't going on?

Oh no, Scrappy! I hope it's just a few bumps and bruises that fade quickly. DH should be attuned to your every need, even if he can't hear the dogs!

Congrats, Strix! That happened quickly.

Ugh on the family drama, Laura. It sucks that death brings out the worst in people. Take care of yourself, and let the rest of the sibs duke it out.

Aww, Amy. I'm glad everyone is recognizing how important you were to the business.

I didn't have a root canal- they filed away the cavity and replaced it with a temporary filling, with instructions to call general dentistry for a root canal. So the infected root is still in there (my choice was this or pulling the tooth) I called them, and their first available exam is Monday, and the root canal would be scheduled after that.

This is something that I try and work on. DH#1 used to tell me that he would prefer that I get pissed off once a month rather than saving it for 5 years and spilling it all at once on him. When he said it I knew he was right, but not easy to change.

Alas, it is the 3 sibs against step-dad and rather than have my mother haunt me I have to try and protect him. They are cruel horrible people, and they don't recognize it, and if I lose them all doing the right thing, so be it.

Tooth pain is so absurdly distracting. So sorry, Sophia.

I have a word problem for you- although I just killed the thread with my dental woes.

My boss had a dinner at a conference with several other people and her husband. THey would not split the check. The dinner my boss ate (which is the only part that is reimbursable) is $45.50. I am supposed to calculated the amount of the tax and tip is supposed to go with that. The tax is easy because I just looked up the tax rate. The tip is not. They didn't get separate checks, but they did split the bill between credit cards. So my boss paid for her husband's dinner and her and her husband's drink, and their part of the tax on her credit card at $132.23 with a $27.00 tip. What portion of the $27 tip should I allocate to the 45.50 meal and how to I explain reasoning to the accountant.

Sophia, I would use the % tip on the whole thing and apply it to the reimbursable portion.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

What portion of the $27 tip should I allocate to the 45.50 meal and how to I explain reasoning to the accountant.

I'd do $9.10, which is 20% of $45.50, since it looks like they tipped $20 (or rounded up) on the whole amount of $132.23. (20% of 132.23 = 26.446, and they tipped $27. 20% of 45.50 = 9.10.)

t edit I totally ignored tax in my calculations, though. Unless 132.23 was the amount after tax.

t edit again But I stand by $9.10.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I would just do 20% of $45.50 for the tip because that is the max tip allowed by our travel guidelines.

ETA Hahahaha this is actually my job!

Thanks guys! They just started having AAs fill out these forms for our bosses instead of the accountant, and this is my second one!
