I fell down the last three stairs at 2:30 in the morning, when on the way to take a dog out in the freezing cold for his upset stomach. Landed on my side.
Owwww.
a lot of customers are hugging me and wishing me well, which is sort of surprising and really touching.
Aww!
Alas, it is the 3 sibs against step-dad and rather than have my mother haunt me I have to try and protect him. They are cruel horrible people, and they don't recognize it, and if I lose them all doing the right thing, so be it.
Ugh. I am sure you are doing the right thing, though.
I MADE IT! Luckily, my afternoon included a delightful meeting (seriously) and a couple of bite-sized tasks. My to-do list is still overwhelming, but I'm just not going to worry about it.
I am mixing some sports in with my house and office work this weekend. Going to go to one of DH's basketball games tomorrow. I haven't been to any this year. Then Sunday instead of having the Superbowl party at my house I am just going to make snacks and go to the local pool hall to drink and watch DH and friends/family play. Pool hall doesn't serve food so people can bring food or have delivery. This is the first year in a long time that I haven't watched a single pro football game all season. Go Eagles!
eta: usually they play pool here, but the table is in storage like the rest of my life.
fuck, y'all.(another fragment to show punctuation is important)
That's exactly what I though t as I read it, erika!
I wish I could make people's lives easier and see everyone instead of having to work.
msbelle for President!
Congrats, Strix, that sounds awesome!
Tooth-ma, Sophia!
Yikes, Scrappy! Hope the soreness stays mild and leaves quickly!
Good luck with the family drama, Laura. You have such a good heart, I have to assume that your protective instincts are correct and I hope your sibs shape up and act right!
That must be gratifying, Amy!
My to-do list is still overwhelming, but I'm just not going to worry about it.
This seems like the appropriate attitude on a Friday afternoon.
Timelies all!
Tomorrow will be a music-filled day. During the day we are going to the FSGW mid-winter festival. In the evening, after we leave Mr. S with the babysitter, we'll go to a friend's music circle/houseparty.
I am completely out of steam wrt work. And I came in a little late and took a long lunch so I should theoretically be here until 5:20. That is obviously not happening, but I guess I won't leave right now, either.
That sounds like a great day, Sheryl.
Fridays are my best days at work. A lot of doctors take Friday off and most of the staff just don't care if there are technical issues. They just do something else. It is my catch up day.
OMG, my mother just spent three hours at the out-of-business dry cleaner, and they didn't have her stuff! Why the fuck they couldn't tell the line, "If you dropped off on these days, we don't have it," is a mystery to me.
Like don't have her stuff YET, or like will never have her stuff too bad so sad??
Yes. Is it lost forever because that is horrible. If it is lost for temporsry, also annoying g that they could not announce it.
This tooth pain is a killer. I am ibuprofening, and adding heat and whisky. Whisky is possibly not the best idea, but I have to get through to my 9:40 Monday appointment. Since I work at the healthcare center in our area, I know that the only thing the E D can do for me is pull the tooth. So unless I get a fever or other signs of infection, I am staying put until Monday.
What about clove oil, Sophia? Tooth pain is the worst.
