Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

I liked both the floral Docs.

Jilli's trip sounds awesome!

Today I cooked lunch for the week (chicken enchilada soup) and took my first stab at a homemade quiche. There was a hole in the crust so a bit of the egg mixture ran out and it looked a total mess. Tasted good, though. For the filling, I sauteed an onion in butter until it was all brown and caramelized. Then I put a bunch of baby spinach in the pan on top of the onion and let it wilt down. I threw in some shredded cheese, too. I think this will be a few dinners this week, along with a glass of wine and maybe a salad.

I also shredded a bunch of 2010 financial stuff while watching a couple reruns of the Great British Bakeoff. As rainy Sundays go, it was pretty productive and pleasant.

Mmm, well done, Calli!

That's awesome! I'm still with my cousins so we had brunch, and went to Gymboree, and took a nap, and then my cousin and I got pedicures while her husband handled the kids. Then we made rice krispy treats and had bathtime sand eventually after the kids fell asleep we had dinner and watched the amazing race.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Bathtime sand seems counterproductive.

I played the trombone, hilariously!

Perfect! If you don't start on the right note you can just slide into it.

Since my last post I went to Home Depot and Target, somehow managed to get a 50# box that was too big to hang onto up to my apartment, put together a bakers rack, talked to my parents for an hour, cleaned up the packaging and dragged it out the the dumpster/recycling and fed myself. Someday I will learn to be productive on the weekend before 5pm on Sunday.

I finished the pot of chili I'd made this past week, using it and some pasta shells to make sort-of chili mac since I was out of crackers. Very good, and in another 36 hours or so I should be fit for human company again!

Sounds like a good ending to the weekend, aurelia.

This thing in Davos keeps making me think we should be worried about Daleks more than Skynet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So much TCB and cooking yesterday! Good one.

My local dry cleaner suddenly went out of business the other week (so suddenly, I had bought a Groupon that very day -- they gave me a refund), and now they are opening for one day only to come get your stuff (and pay for it, if it got cleaned). They will be open 7am to 4pm on Friday. That just doesn't seem like enough time or notice! (Not that I have anything there.)

Wow, yeah, that sounds like a mess.
