I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You guys, I was in a marching band today! With no prior experience at all! I even played the right note sometimes!

Like, a spontaneously occurring marching band?

t edit Because that sounds awesome!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

What instrument did you play, Jesse? And was On Wisconsin your first song?

Scrappy, those are very Max Headroom. I like 'em. Luckily that temptation has been removed by size availability. I think I'm going with the Darcy Floral. I think my red waffle knit are the same style as the Kelly Floral ones. I may have a Doc Marten problem.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

You can't really go wrong with any of them.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Like, a spontaneously occurring marching band?

They do it every weekend. Most people actually know what they are doing, but all are welcome.

I played the trombone, hilariously! I mean, it was hilarious that I did it, and also my attempts at playing were hilarious. But again, sometimes I played the right note! I believe Ghostbusters was the first song.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds hella fun, Jesse.

Tay floral docs!

I got myself to bellydance practice AND went to the gym and swam for the first time in years. Three whole laps! One length of freestyle and the rest that groggy backstroke that I feel pretty far from drowning in the middle of. Gotta start somewhere.

Tired now. Got laundry to do and garbage to take out but that might just have to wait until after dinner.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I liked both the floral Docs.

Jilli's trip sounds awesome!

Today I cooked lunch for the week (chicken enchilada soup) and took my first stab at a homemade quiche. There was a hole in the crust so a bit of the egg mixture ran out and it looked a total mess. Tasted good, though. For the filling, I sauteed an onion in butter until it was all brown and caramelized. Then I put a bunch of baby spinach in the pan on top of the onion and let it wilt down. I threw in some shredded cheese, too. I think this will be a few dinners this week, along with a glass of wine and maybe a salad.

I also shredded a bunch of 2010 financial stuff while watching a couple reruns of the Great British Bakeoff. As rainy Sundays go, it was pretty productive and pleasant.

Mmm, well done, Calli!

That's awesome! I'm still with my cousins so we had brunch, and went to Gymboree, and took a nap, and then my cousin and I got pedicures while her husband handled the kids. Then we made rice krispy treats and had bathtime sand eventually after the kids fell asleep we had dinner and watched the amazing race.

Bathtime sand seems counterproductive.

I played the trombone, hilariously!

Perfect! If you don't start on the right note you can just slide into it.

Since my last post I went to Home Depot and Target, somehow managed to get a 50# box that was too big to hang onto up to my apartment, put together a bakers rack, talked to my parents for an hour, cleaned up the packaging and dragged it out the the dumpster/recycling and fed myself. Someday I will learn to be productive on the weekend before 5pm on Sunday.
