Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

Nowhere near. It derailed an hour south of Seattle.

I did have a friend who was driving seattle to Portland this morning but luckily she left early enough that she was not there.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Thanks, that's what I thought, but I haven't seen my nieces on FB yet today.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, man, I had to google the news. That's terrible.

I'm beginning to think a joint hiring campaign was not the best idea. Because every sane applicant is indicating interest in all open positions. And we're hiring entry level me & other mgrs are everything from entry to software engineers to career PhD. So I have to sift through a lot of overqualified/inapplicable submissions. And this is the first I'm the hiring mgr. I'm so out of my depth. And I disappear in 2 more days.

And I have a shitton of things to at least stabilize at work, and so many fucking people want to meet with me!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My best candidate just withdrew from my hiring pool. BOOOOOO.

In other news about my job, I get forwarded semi-serious emails about Winkelvii and bitcoins.

I'm way too generous reading resumes. I need to lock down my hard criteria.

(Also, fastest swim in 6 weeks. Wee bit stressed.)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I do have a tire pressure gauge in my pocket, though. So I have that going for me.

It's good to be prepared.

The photos of that derailment are terrifying. The stories I've read so far mention a controversy over switching to that route, including safety concerns, but I haven't seen anything saying what the specific concerns were.

I have been far too amused with the performance reports for ACC this year. One child has decided the show is all about him and keeps doing new things in his scenes. He has been talked to, his father has been talked to, a 2nd YP supervisor was added... nothing seems to help. This weekend the SM added a category to the performance report with this child's name.

In other ACC news, our Tiny Tim (different child) is adorable. [link] [link]

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

got giftcards for stylist and manicurist. Got a thing for mac, but still need more. Still nothing for either parent and I only have half for the brother and brother-in-law.

I got the dogs treats and foster dog, Maxine, a sweater since she's little and it's getting cold. I also called the shelter and said we would keep her through the holidays and bring her up there if anyone called to inquire about her. I hope we find her a good home.
