Our wings are not tired.

This is the first year since maybe forever that I am not doing a tree. Just too many things going on and I don't need the stress. B&T (new shortcut for son and GF or DIL) suggested we go on a trip so we are looking at New Orleans. It is only $113 round trip for the flight from Fort Lauderdale!! DH's birthday is the 28th. So maybe getting away.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We've had a tree up for a week undecorated. Life has been too crazy.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We have the $10 Aldi tree up for Murderbiscuit (which he leaves alone 98% of the time), and a small tree on the bedside table in the bedroom, but the bedroom tree doesn't have ornaments on it yet. Only lights. Maybe the ornaments will make it up this weekend.

I've got my Taylor tree up, decorated and lit (it's like 2.5 ft and 30 ornaments, so) and the Murderbiscuit-inspired silver aldi tree with additional leds, hanging. Lokes & Pumpk pretty much leave it alone now but P sits on the mantle or table near it, just staring.

I loved the Murderbiscuit Aldi tree! I had #1 son put a couple wreaths up for me on the garage lamps, and that has been it. Just too much. (I hope the New Orleans plan happens, that would be fun)

I am up past my bedtime watching election returns. Yes, my first desire is for a landslide, but it will be satisfying if the write-in vote exceeds the difference between Jones and Moore. Feeling hopeful. Can't stop watching.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Holy shit, I think Jones won.

Because books.

That's what my news just said.

Our wings are not tired.

NYT and Washington Post have called it. My hopes for humanity restored. (and I stick my tongue out at my RED Alabama relatives)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

NYT says: Doug Jones has won the election, according to A.P. I'm still pretty worked up about all the voter suppression stories though.

What differentiates a InstantPot from a regular slow cooker? I've almost decided to get a sous vide cooker for my brother and his other half. Does anyone have a preferred model/brand for that?

I've moved on from feeling relieved to feeling smug. I can't wait to read all of the reaction pieces tomorrow.
