So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oh, yay, winter weather advisory. We're gonna get half an hour of snowflakes that won't stick and the whole region will lose its collective mind.

Thrive to spite them

The forecast is now saying more snow. I'm fairlu certain I'll be unable to go to work tomorrow. I live off a secinday mountain road where both sides ger closed when the weather is bad.

I'm more anxius about this because I missed work for being sick and I know both are legit excuses but it makes me feel irresponsible ans worries they won't keep me past the holiday. (I'm currwntly seasonal). I know this isnt rarional but my brain weasels won't shut up. I'm leaving for work earlt amd asked Mom to watch for info about road closures and call work if that will happen. That's all I can do.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Calling for 2 to 4 inches of snow overnight/tomorrow in DC. Temperatures juuuuust above freezing. I'm not happy.

Our wings are not tired.

Glances at weather. Currently 73F at 8:30 AM, high of 85 today. Dropping into the 70s tomorrow and rain. I only wish I could send the rain to California. Early next week we get a cold front where it dips into the 60s for a few days.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh dear -- I remembered it was Casual Friday in my office, but not that I am supposed to go to a meeting with the Dean, who I have never met. I just texted a coworker to see if I should skip the meeting! (NB: I would just be an observer in the meeting.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Working from home today was a good call -- between yesterday when I decided to do so and this morning, they upgraded the forecast from flurries with zero accumulation between 12 & 2, to half an inch of accumulation around 3, and as we all know, that means DEATH AND DOOM AND DESTRUCTION AND AT-ATs IN THE STREETS around here.

I am @@, but also I am home with kitties and blankets and theoretically focusing on getting shit done.

brillig

Unfortunately, many here in Utah are snickering at the panic in the South. Others of us have sympathy for your unfamiliarity with how to cope.

hip deep in pie

I think I am getting all this weather as rain. It's a topsy turvy world.
