I'm sorry about the stress, lisah.
In other news, I just fired off an application for a job in the upper peninsula of MI. Because f*** 80F in October, man.
I mean, I'm not expecting to get it. But it felt good to apply.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I am so sorry, Jesse. Sending love and support to everyone.
I am making chili today, I must be tapping into the hivemind
I made peanut butter cookies, but they are disappointing. Too cakey and soft. I should have made chili.
Now I want food.
My dream house right now is straw bales covered with clay. Cool in summer. Warm in winter. Best of all, soundproof. No need to lie awake thinking about wishing someone near by would shut her shrieking noise hole.
Now I'm sad about how I missed book stores since leaving SF, and now they are gone with the wind.
In better news, I have blue skies and better air. I am ridiculously grateful.

Curiously one of the books they had at Overland Books was about the history and structure of The Sod House. Made me think of all the Little House fans here.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry, Jesse.
Went to get Mr. S new shoes, as he had basically outgrown his "nicer" shoes. Ended up getting him two pairs of shoes and a pair of snow boots.
ok you cold weather wanting people. I have found 102 units in 3 apartment complexes on the same street, right be side each other in Omaha, NE. Studios up to 3 br. We would turn some whole buildings into guest spaces, communal living areas and even a dining space for group meals. 4.4 mil, so if 50 go in, that's be less than $100K each.
But then we'd be in Nebraska?
Of course, I've been googling cabins in the woods for my friends lately. Head in the sand feels like the only sane option at points here.
For example, this lovely 8 bedroom Queen Anne in a northern MI college town, for under half a million: [link]
Are the red & blue hoses compressed air lines? I wonder what that's all about.
Omaha is not that cold. Some snow in the winter, hot in the summer, potential for tornadoes in the spring... like KC but with less freezing rain. I did like what I saw of Omaha when I was there for a week.
I do think the upper midwest will be less impacted by climate change for longer than other areas.

I've thought about moving north a LOT. Because fuck 80+F in October.
