Winds are much lower hitting St. Pete. Down to 60mph. That will mitigate a lot of the damage but still worried about the big surge.

I'm scared to even look for images of Miami. The shelter where my sister works is a designated shelter-in-place, and my BiL (who has a construction background) has been helping them all week to make it as air and water-tight as possible, but because she's working she hasn't had time to let us know anything yet.

So it looks like the storm turned inland so it will spare much of Sarasota/St. Pete/Tampa.
It'll hit Orlando now, but it'll be much weaker traveling over land and it won't cause as much storm surge.
So that's good. Unless you're Disney.
Our friends who live near Orlando lost power in the last half hour or so. They think power was cut to keep transformers from blowing. (I have no idea how they can know that, but that's what they said.) They're expecting to lose cell service shortly.
