"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

The juxtaposition of this made me have to reread, because for a moment I thought the Secret Service were going to be working out of a food truck.

Ha! The House of Meat = Outback Steakhouse, which is in the VividCon hotel.

But I totally want Secret Service food truck fic now.

Man, I really want wine and tater tots for dinner.

Fly to Minneapolis and I will treat you.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Dear Staff Member:

Did you really CC my supervisor on an email saying "Would you buy eggs, because they were on the list and you didn't any when you went grocery shopping"? I mean, really? First, I did buy them. Second, I don't blame you for not seeing them, they were shoved so far in the back that I didn't see them either until after I got back from conning the grocery store into giving me another carton of eggs. Third, anytime we are running low on something, please feel free to take some petty cash and go buy some. There is a reason why I go through the fuss and bother of getting the petty cash reimbursed rather than letting it empty out and stay empty. This is one of them. Do you have any idea what sort of whiner it makes you look to whine to my supervisor about something you could fix yourself?

No love,

Me

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

This day can just end now

First, I have been up since three stressing about a work change in reporting structure and a meeting to clarify expectations. I have been incredibly happy in my job the past few years, and was really scared. The meeting turned out well, but then in another stressful meeting I got a text from my aunt saying that a) she could not reach my mother, who had called her and b) she was in the ED with her husband my uncle! Got a call from uncle two that my mother has lost sight on one eue and was going to ask a neighbor to take her to the dr. Then, I since I work where the ED is, I go to the ED, and spend three hours with my uncle and aunt, and trying to reach my mom. I reach my mom, she found a ride, but needs another tomorrow. But then the Drs come, and talk to my aunt and uncle- and then since I am a colleague they sort of chat with me privately and let me know it is pretty serious. Then- giant thunder rainstorms and trying to get the bus home, even though I fell bad leaving them in the ED waiting to be admitted, because I am pretty sure it is going to be a 24 to 48 hour period before a bed opens up. And the dog needs to be let out, but my mom can't do it because she has lost her vision

I think I need to buy a car ASAP

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, Waffles.

Mmm, wine and tater tots. Hmm. I have wine. I do not have tater tots. Or any approximation thereof. Alas.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Oh, Sophia, that sounds miserable.

I was going to whine about how hotel rooms are either not quite cool enough or two degrees past polar, but that's pretty petty, by comparison.

hip deep in pie

Oh Sophia, that's very bad day. Is there any explanation for your mother's vision loss? Much ma for everyone, you included.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, Sophia! I hope you have wine and tater tots or whatever else might be comforting in this moment.

Sophia, in the short term, is lyft operating in your area? That could be a great help. (Disclaimer: I took my first uber/lyft in Anchorage because SIL's knee got crunchy & the boys whiney after 5 miles with 2 to go, so I went along for the ride. Of course we got a guy from the base and bro & SIL & him got all into base assignments and military life talk & they all exchanged #s at the end of a maybe 10 minute ride. So.)

I have wine now! My mom gets shots in her eyes, and it appears to be bleeding from that, but she has to go to a location with a better scope (she is rural) to see if it is that, she needs to not move or lay down and it will drain.
