Gack. Got to bed around 9:30, woke up at 5. Sort of managed to get back to sleep until 6:30. I am still sleepy.

Steph, I agree that you do not need to go to the funeral. I support your decision.
welcome back Dana!
Also, technology is amazing. I am going to a medical appointment this afternoon and I have never been to the building before. It is a professional building attached to a hospital. I am taking the bus, and all the directions they have are from the parking garage. I was trying to call, but I also looked it up on Good Streetview, and I could actually turn the picture around so I could see the bus stop AND the entrance to the building!
Sophia, I went looking for the like button... Yay, Google Street view!
I've actually thought about adding a 'like' button for Buffistas 2.0.
It is not a surprise that I use Google street view so often. In city wrangling it helps so much to see what is next door and across the street rather than trying to look for numbers while driving. Also, seriously Google, the view of my cabin in Otter Lake is from September 2008. Do another drive by already! [link]
eta: home view is March 2015, which a bit more recent. House looks about the same, even with the same cars.

I've thought about that too, but often I find myself using that on FB and feeling lazy. Where here we are more talky meat.
Yeah, we would have to revisit the whole idea of cultural norms here, I think. Even though it's not the same kind of social currency we were thinking about all those years ago.
I also love Google Streetview for things like that! I've used it to double-check that routes have sidewalks and etc.
In the long run, I prefer the simplicity of not having reaction buttons here, of needing to use my words. But it is also fun to reference pop culture, so talking about like buttons is good.

And ditto for bus drivers in France.
