I'm thinking of getting TSA PreCheck because of the hardware in my leg now. Seems like it'll make going through security easier if I have to explain every time that I'm a cyborg. Anyone have any thoughts on that idea?

One thought! I think the Pre-Check folks get to go through the regular metal detector rather than the body-scanner, so it might not actually help you at all in that respect. Depending on how the scanner deals with your leg.
