A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That sounds like a good decision, Steph. Before I saw your post, I was going to suggest just having Tim go and say that you weren't feeling well but you send your regards, which would be completely true.

I'm trying to decide whether to go to Pride. "I ought to go" and "Too many people" are warring in my brain. I'm thinking maybe I'll just go to one of the smaller events, like the Hairspray movie in the park tonight, and skip the actual parade part.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Two calendar things I am more annoyed by than I probably should be:

(1) My one coworker who came back from his training session saying it went longer than it was scheduled to because his calendar said 10-11 but the actual email said 10-11:30, which is exactly the time it took

(b) TPTB ran out of Women's shirts (uniform for the sale that starts on Friday) and bumped today's scheduled-by-dept pickup for anyone who wants those to tomorrow, which is fine, that happens, but they moved the scheduled time for my department to exactly the same time as my previously scheduled meeting the whole department was invited to. Sigh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Frankly, I want to rip out all the carpeting and vinyl tile and go hardwood through the whole house. Then between steam and swiffer I can keep us mostly clean and allergen free.

Me too. I already replaced the downstairs carpet with vinyl throughout and I'm so glad I did. My breathing is better and it's so much easier to keep clean. Now I'm ready to rip the upstairs carpet out and put down a hard floor. I'm thinking parquet, because there's already parquet on the landing on the stairs, and I like it. I know we can take up the carpet ourselves. My sister thinks we can lay the replacement floor too but I'm not so sure.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm tired. Wish I had the energy Mr. S has....

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Our current house is all hardwood, except the kitchen and bathroom. Our new house has a tiled first floor, and hardwood upstairs. I was not a huge fan-- but with two big dogs and lots of snow and whatnot, I actually think it might be a good thing. The DH has asthma and allergies so hard surfaces are a must.

I'm never going back from hardwood floors if I can help it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Steph, I am kind of relieved for you that you have decided to not go to the funeral. I was concerned for you. Yes, it would be ideal if you could be there for your dad, but you cannot take care of anyone else if you don't take care of yourself. Anybody other than your dad gives you the side eye about not going, I say we stick 'em in a non-functioning elevator with my brother. They can have a snide-off together.

- pack up item sold on ebay (TAKE A BREAK FROM EBAY SELLING FOR A FEW WEEKS)
- mobile deposit refund check from medical stuff (YAY MONEy)
- call bank to check about auto payment from checking that hit when account was locked
- get transferred to credit card department of bank to check on fraud charge attempt on card and shutting down that # and getting new cards AND checking for auto payments set up on THAT card
- check the payment that bank shows did not go, see that payee shows it as received and now await fallout of it bouncing or something and there being fees and whatnot
- admit mistake made to large friend distribution list
- pay water bill

had to make another call to bank, this time to the bill pay service section. Since they had attempted to pay a scheduled payment when the bank had things frozen, the payment refused and then THEY frozen the account. So I had to get them to unfreeze it and hopefully the payment scheduled for today, but will go through.

- I reset up a payment to the one that failed and yes that payment is now gonna miss a due date.

- Luckily I also noticed while in there that my phone bill is due this week and in order to make the due date I need to make that payment via the phone website.
