Yay new vacuum.
My dryer decided to quit today, on cleaning person day of course. So DH took the clothes to the laundry and dried them, but brought them home all jumbled in the basket!! So yeah, next thing on my list is folding wrinkled clothes.

I totally want a Dyson. Even though we only have carpet in the bedroom. #DreamBig
I forgot that the registration for both cars has to be renewed, so I ran out and did that at the world's fastest BMV. So I had to interact with people sooner than I thought, but that was an easy errand. I also picked up my antibiotic, so sinus infection, begone!
Now I hafta finish some work before I take the kitten to the vet.
Happy Birthday, Epic!
Report in on the ease of use and efficacy of the Dyson, Gud. At the moment we're using H's shop vac because it has more pull than the upright we've been using. Frankly, I want to rip out all the carpeting and vinyl tile and go hardwood through the whole house. Then between steam and swiffer I can keep us mostly clean and allergen free. Unfortunately, this plan requires more money than we have (ETA) to spend on a project like this.
I thought my vaccuum cleaner was finally dead, but I started to take it apart and I found a cat toy clogging it up. Now it's back to like, even if it won't stay upright on it's own anymore. I still need a new one eventually, but not right away.
Anyone looking at buying vaccuums, this guys Reddit AMAs are gold: [link]
That sounds like a good decision, Steph. Before I saw your post, I was going to suggest just having Tim go and say that you weren't feeling well but you send your regards, which would be completely true.
I'm trying to decide whether to go to Pride. "I ought to go" and "Too many people" are warring in my brain. I'm thinking maybe I'll just go to one of the smaller events, like the Hairspray movie in the park tonight, and skip the actual parade part.
Two calendar things I am more annoyed by than I probably should be:
(1) My one coworker who came back from his training session saying it went longer than it was scheduled to because his calendar said 10-11 but the actual email said 10-11:30, which is exactly the time it took
(b) TPTB ran out of Women's shirts (uniform for the sale that starts on Friday) and bumped today's scheduled-by-dept pickup for anyone who wants those to tomorrow, which is fine, that happens, but they moved the scheduled time for my department to exactly the same time as my previously scheduled meeting the whole department was invited to. Sigh.

Me too. I already replaced the downstairs carpet with vinyl throughout and I'm so glad I did. My breathing is better and it's so much easier to keep clean. Now I'm ready to rip the upstairs carpet out and put down a hard floor. I'm thinking parquet, because there's already parquet on the landing on the stairs, and I like it. I know we can take up the carpet ourselves. My sister thinks we can lay the replacement floor too but I'm not so sure.
Timelies all!
I'm tired. Wish I had the energy Mr. S has....
Our current house is all hardwood, except the kitchen and bathroom. Our new house has a tiled first floor, and hardwood upstairs. I was not a huge fan-- but with two big dogs and lots of snow and whatnot, I actually think it might be a good thing. The DH has asthma and allergies so hard surfaces are a must.
