Wow Jessica! That's terrific!
I am back at work and looking at a whole 5 days of working this week and not liking it. Also forgot my morning meds. So Monday, very coffee.

Sounds like an awesome day!
Congrats to Jessica's baby sister! Taped Tony Awards but haven't watched yet. Missed the first hour completely. Was the opening number good?
Was the opening number good?
It was ok? I felt like Kevin Spacey was trying too hard the whole night. The opening number was less awkward than his random impressions later in the show. (He came on once as Johnny Carson, once as Bill Clinton, and once as Frank Underwood, and it was all weird and uncomfortable.)
Unsurprisingly, the pie chart author continues to be the actual worst. We have standard data that needs to be included (boring shit like the dates that the study was conducted, the mean age of the patients, etc.). Her reply to every query like that is "That is unimportant and I will not provide it."
Normally the hapless freelance editor follows up and says, hey, this is standard information that the senior editors deemed important to include, so please provide it. But at this point, I'm throwing it in my coordinator's lap. He already knows that she is from hell, based on the pie chart saga, so he can make the judgment call of whether we can leave that stuff out or he can be the one to try to get the information from her.
Her reply to every query like that is "That is unimportant and I will not provide it."
Are you allowed to reply "Your paper is unimportant and I will not publish it"?
Any idea why the PTB don't just pull the article? Surely they're not short on other articles to replace it.
I kinda want her to provide all the "unimportant" information in the form of pie charts. Just because that would make the story more entertaining.

I think they schedule the issues so that there's not much wiggle room to drop or add an article. Like, I'm still working on it, and it gets published in July. If they pull it, they have to come up with something to replace it, and they don't allow themselves that kind of margin. Which isn't my decision or technically my problem, except for when I have to deal with this bullshit at my level.
