Oh dear. Well, what can you do?

Wow aurelia, that sounds kinda terrible. I mean, maybe less work for you? But terrible for the theaters bottom line?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

It isn't less work because that part is done. We had 11 very well received previews. It is most certainly a hit to the bottom line and the crew for that show all have enough seniority that we're going to have to shuffle and bump people from the crew in the other space.

The sad part for the performer (I do think he will be okay) is that, according to rumor, he was planning on this being his swan song.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Damn. Glad he looks to be okay, though.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oof aurelia. Maybe hard on the bottom line of the show crew and the theatre, I guess, but poor performer, that sucks for him.

I love the idea of a proving oven like the GBBO, but I can't eat carbs to any degree anymore :(, so no baking in my future...

I have discovered that it is impossible to go to NYC and back from Rochester without staying overnight, which is annoying. I feel like I could swing Broadway tickets, and swing the travel, but a hotel is just a bridge too far unless i give up my other fun traveling to zoos for the summer. I don't suppose lurking about Penn Station from 11 pm - morning is very safe! Where are the sleeper cars of yesteryear...

How disappointing, Sophia!

What is a proving oven?

So I'm seeing a show at one of the other large non-profit theatres tonight and I happen to be wearing a shirt with my employers name on the sleeve. Here's hoping that doesn't attract questions.

brillig

A proving drawer is essentially a very-low temperature oven that you can put dough in to help it rise. I didn't really learn about them till watching Great British Bake Off. So educational, that show.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'm currently watching GBBO Master Class and have been utterly confused by the use of "200 fan" as a temperature. Are fan ovens a standard in Britain?

The final rise of bread dough after kneading and shaping and before baking is called proofing. At least, in my head it is proofing and not proving but now I don't know where I got that.
