He got a whole burger yesterday to make up for the indignity of the trip to the vet
My kitty can never know about this.
We got a piece of mail today, hand-addressed to "The Peckmeyer Family," which immediately got my dander up, with a return address I didn't recognize. As it turns out, it was a nice condolence card from the mobile vet who came to the house to euthanize Kato. He isn't our regular vet, so I'm not going to give him (or his staff) grief about misspelling our name. (They need to stop including that damn Rainbow Bridge poem, though. My cynical side is all, "That shit is so hokey," while the rest of me is clutching a condolence card and crying like a damn fool.)
Also, holy crap, how is it already noon???
My cats don't know about it either. Of course, when they come home from the vet they hide and sulk, so even if I gave them burgers they might not notice.
I don't know how it happens but if I don't have my phone with me for 10 minutes during the day (I was in the meeting which I'm always in at that time of day), my wife will call me right then. I missed her phone call. I called back a couple of times one minute later, but she's not answering which probably means she's pissed off. That's just great.
I see, she can choose to not answer the phone, but you have to even if you are in a meeting. Not reasonable.
Gud, do you ever get pissed off at her? If my husband treated me the way your wife treats you, there would be hell to pay.
t edit
(Okay, no, I'll be honest. If Tim treated me the way your wife treats you, the marriage would be over. The way she treats you is not how you treat someone you claim to love. It's abusive, and you deserve so much better.) You are WORKING. You can't just drop everything to answer the phone the moment anyone calls, not even your wife.
I work from home, where things are not *super* pressing, but even so, I keep my phone on mute because I have shit to do. People can leave a message and I'll call back. If that pisses them off -- even if it's my husband -- too fucking bad. They can get the fuck over it and act like actual adults, not 3-year-olds throwing a tantrum because they don't get what they want the precise SECOND they decide they want it.
The way she treats you is appalling.
And honestly, you don't seem very happy with her. I'm not sure why you put up with it.

A meeting that happens at the same time every day. Pretty reasonable to assume you won't be able to answer your phone at that point.
Ugh. I slept until 11:30 Pacific time. I meant to get up around 9:00. But I suppose it makes sense I'd be so tired, considering the stress I'm under.
My flight from Oakland boards at 8:14 am tomorrow. What time should I get to the airport? I imagine the security lines will be fairly short?
ETA: does the car rental shuttle run at, say, 6:00 am for the Oakland airport?
Well, it may be that she's not answering for other reasons and isn't angry. I don't really know. It's got me stressed out though.
