My Dad worked as a janitor at a big office building in downtown SF for awhile when he was escaping his expected college professor life. He ended up with a lovely friendship with the night security lady, who used her time sitting in the lobby to work on her stained glass projects.
Every person who had that job needed something to stay awake because it was sooooo boring. I wanted that job so I could sit there alone for hours with my books.
My only problem with the CPAP is the urge to say "Are you my mummy?" when I put it on.
We used to chant the Pigs innnn Spaaaaaace opening when my dad had his (old fashioned, full face) one on. I'm sure he found it as funny as we did.
Wait, I actually use nasal pillows, not a nasal mask. If that matters.
Someone reassure me that I'm not the first person who ever messed up a medication refill and had to pay for express shipping to get it here before I run out of a med.
Oh good lord, no. Far from the first or only. Practically every refill I've done I've made some kind of mistake on!
In Eat-a-Muffin-Whitey news: I got a chocolate chip bagel this morning (free bagel every day at Panera this month, I am taking some advantage when I can) in hopes that it would approximate a childhood favorite = toast with butter and chocolate chips. Not really, alas.
I have some roasted garlic from my roast chicken the other day, and was thinking I should get some good bread to eat it on, but maybe I will get a free bagel instead!
Dana, you are clearly not the first person who ever missed up a medication refill! But I really wanted to know when you'll hear anything about the MRI. Because a good process is one thing, but we want results! I mean, right?
I really should do automatic mail refills. Instead I wait until the last minute and have to go wait at the drugstore.
The nasal pillows made me feel like I couldn't breathe OUT.
Ugh, had a nightmare that was a mix of Red Dragon and The Cell last night. Not sure what it was yesterday that sent my subconscious down a body-modifying serial killer path, but I'd rather not repeat it.
Yipes, Matt. May tonight NOT have that sort of dream!
Hey, speaking of cars like was being done many posts ago! Anyone have any recommendations for a used, reliable, inexpensive car that would hold two large dogs and a kid? We will probably have to sell my Mini (sob), but depending on how much is left after throwing that at bills, etc., we may consider getting a cheaper, more practical vehicle. Right now, we can only carry the dogs in a 1988 Volvo 240 that we don't trust for long distances. (It's on a rebuilt title, has well over 300k on the engine, and while it has served us well in the years we have had it and the $800 cash was well-spent, we kind of need to plan for it dying.)
Lucky Charms: I'm hoping for under 6k. So, you know, I'm probably asking if you can recommend a unicorn.
A unicorn won't have NEARLY enough room for two dogs and a child. You'll definitely need to get a catbus.
