I loved TLJ. LOVED loved. Loved enough that I deceived myself into thinking it redeemed some of the other terrible choices the franchise has gone through. Which is why I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE ROS so much.
Buffista Movies Across the 8th Dimension!
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
He should abso-fucking-lutely NOT have done Star Wars.
As a person who largely doesn't care about any Star War since the first film, I yield to the person who obviously does care. JJA should never touch an existing franchise again.
I just realized I never saw Rise of Skywalker. I think I don't want to.
Still haven't seen RoS either.
Cosigned. The "fan" reaction to TLJ left a very bitter taste in my mouth and I was pretty sure I didn't want to see RoS before it came out. I haven't heard one thing since that indicates I should.
Abrams is so fucking predictable and terrible.
Somehow I convinced my nephews to skip ST: Into Darkness (I cannot abide the thought of a white-washed Khan and all the bullshit Cumberbatchy stuff), so we're halfway through ST: Beyond. Which is... not as offensively terrible. Although I think it's ridiculous that 5 years after making Captain, Jim Kirk is already angling for a promotion because he's bored on the Enterprise.
... did these people see any of the original series? I mean, seriously.
Wonder Woman 1984 trailer ... if you're interested ....
I finally watched Knives Out, Matthew ran to Wal Mart for some reason and came home with it. I really liked it I need to watch the features that came with it and then watch it again.
I was just thinking how I should watch that again.
I remember being underwhelmed with Knives Out, which at the time disappointed me because I knew so many here liked it. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood and should try again some day.
The poster is still up at my local independent theater and it makes me sad every time I notice it!
I'm reading a murder mystery and the initial set up with the paterfamilias's will making all his heirs unhappy and sparking chaos made me want to watch Knives Out again (not that that is uncommon). The last two times I watched I intended to pay attention to, like foreshadowing and clues since I knew the ending but I kept getting absorbed in what seemed to be happening now anyway...
