I'd actually forgotten JJA did the Star Wars . But I don't honestly care much about the Star Wars franchise.
'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I really like this version of McCoy.
I think I've said this before, but Karl Urban is easily one of my favorite genre actors right now. I pretty much love him in everything he's in (though I haven't watched The Boys yet because I'm not sure it's really my style).
There's rumors that Paramount wants to do another Star Trek movie with the current cast but without JJ. I'd love to see what a director that actually understands Star Trek could do with these people.

Good grief, I'd love to see that. It's the right CAST, for sure, it was just the wrong story.
I won't even mention Beyond.
...JJAbrams...Force Awakens and Rise of Skywalker.
I kept expecting Clifford the Big Red Ball to show up.
JJA's *stated objective* was to take the movies *away* from all that boring science stuff and just have a rollicking adventure movie with some yocks along the way. Pretty! Pretty sets, pretty people, things go boom! No science! No homage to ST history! Why it's a reboot.
Yeah, I've seen some of them, love most of the cast, but it's not ST.
ST Beyond was directed by Justin Lin, not JJA. Was it not good?
I thought Beyond was fun.
Was Beyond the Beastie Boys one?
t edit That's a really weird question to ask about Star Trek.
Beyond was pretty enjoyable, though I was not pleased with how easily the Enterprise was incapacitated and destroyed in it.
The Star Trek: Lower Decks animated series is really, really funny. (Although there are plenty of Trek fans who, of course, hate it).
The first episode is up for free on YT: [link]
