Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

JJA's *stated objective* was to take the movies *away* from all that boring science stuff and just have a rollicking adventure movie with some yocks along the way. Pretty! Pretty sets, pretty people, things go boom! No science! No homage to ST history! Why it's a reboot.

Yeah, I've seen some of them, love most of the cast, but it's not ST.

ST Beyond was directed by Justin Lin, not JJA. Was it not good?

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I thought Beyond was fun.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Was Beyond the Beastie Boys one?

t edit That's a really weird question to ask about Star Trek.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Beyond was pretty enjoyable, though I was not pleased with how easily the Enterprise was incapacitated and destroyed in it.

The Star Trek: Lower Decks animated series is really, really funny. (Although there are plenty of Trek fans who, of course, hate it).

The first episode is up for free on YT: [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Shoot, you can tell how little attention I've paid to the recent Star Whatever movies.

Beyond was a fun space adventure, but it wasn't anything more. I really like Cumberbatch and I liked his turn as KHHHAAAANNNN, but Star Trek is more than pretty and boom.

I saw the first STLD episode; it was okay, although I kind of wish they'd actually focus on non-officers. There are plenty of enlisted people in Star Fleet, why not show them for once?

The only enlisted person we really ever got to spend time with was Chief O'Brien, and he's a warrant officer. (Which basically means he's still an officer but he came up through the ranks rather than getting a degree at the Academy. But he's still considered an officer.)

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

JJA should've done Star Wars instead.

He should abso-fucking-lutely NOT have done Star Wars.

Signed,
Still mad about Rise of Skywalker. (Force Awakens was fine.)

Gene Roddenberry initially envisioned a Starfleet entirely composed of officers.
