Finally saw
The Florida Project
and loved it, as predicted. (I also really liked Baker's
Tangerine
from 2015.) I think it will be near the top of my 2017 list, but I feel like my list changes with every movie I see.
Also caught
A Ghost Story
on DVD (which I did not expect to like at all but really did). Very poetic.
I'm not gonna be able to see The Last Jedi until Saturday evening and... all the excitement and positive reactions on twitter are killing me a little. Either I get off the internet entirely for 2 days, or I might cave and go to a late showing on Thursday, nevermind I have a 8 am meeting on Friday.
I am seeing The Last Jedi on Saturday AND Sunday. The family had purchased tickets for Sunday a ways back. And then Denver Comic Con is having a private showing for the leadership team and we each got a plus one. I'm taking my future-son-in-law. I'm so excited!!!
I have to balance my desire to see The Last Jedi on my own time, and the desire to avoid spoilers.
We're not seeing
The Last Jedi
for something like a week or more, and I'm trying to decide if I'm going to avoid Tumblr for the entire time, or if I'll give up trying to avoid spoilers.
But this reminds me to go up date my blacklist on Tumblr, just in case everyone I follow is good about tagging things.
I could be seeing it tomorrow night, because movies always open on Thursdays here so previews are on Wednesday. But B. and I can't go until Friday evening, so we're in sync with you guys after all.
I'm going on Saturday. A couple of friends are probably going as soon as it's in a nearby theater, but they're good about not spoiling others.
I'm on call for work this week so the earliest I can see it is next weekend. I do get next Friday off, so I may take the kid to see a matinee that day.
If we can get Gary's mom to look after Mr. S for a few hours on Sunday, we'll see it then. (It's not a matter of whether she wants to, it's a matter of if she's in town that weekend.)
