Good to see B'wana Beast and Vibe getting their props.
Edit: No, wait, that's Freedom Beast, not B'wana Beast.
Buffy ,'Same Time, Same Place'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Finally saw Superman. I really enjoyed it and while I think they might have used the John Williams' theme one too many times overall it still gave me goosebumps every time it played.
Guy was absolutely perfect. Giant dick but still enough of a good guy to use his ring to block out the angry crowd while Superman was clearly having a bad time emotionally and also to go step in to protect the people when Superman had to deal with the rift.
Speaking of the rift it made zero sense for it to work the way it did but I didn't really care.
Holy crap is Rachel Brosnahan a perfect Lois. No notes.
Mr. Terrific was fantastic and I'm excited to see what they do with the character. (Also, I'm glad Edi Gathegi got another chance at playing a superhero after the poor way Darwin was handled in the X-Men movies.)
I rarely go to the theater to see movies when I am in Florida, but we go at least once a week during the summer here in New York.
Last night it was The Naked Gun. There was laughter, maybe even tears rolling down cheeks. The crowd (maybe 25) vocally approved frequently. Can we pick apart a goofy summer movie? Of course, but Neeson and Anderson were cutieheads.
Just got out of Weapons. Weird and creepy, but quite good. This Zach Cregger kid is going to go far.
We watched Freaky Friday as a refresher before seeing the sequel. It was disappointing and not as fun as we remembered, so we went into Freakier Friday with very low expectations. It ended up better than anticipated. Granted, we expected so little that it wouldn't have taken much. Manny Jacinto was adorable, and there was nothing Jamie Lee Curtis could do to make me stop loving her. (Although it is never to be compared to A Fish Called Wanda)
I caught a matinee of Superman today with my sister. We both enjoyed it. The Kent’s home was perfect—not all farmhouse chic, but the sort of place I would expect to see if I dropped by a modestly successful 60-year-old midwestern farm couple. I think my dad’s cousins had a place just like it in the early 80s, and if they’re still alive now it still would look exactly the same.
Gunn is from Missouri, so those kinds of details matter to him.
Also, holy shit, Gunn and Corenswet working on set.

Daaaaamn. That's good stuff.

That was a fantastic look at them working together. (Also, Gunn reminds me of Hec in looks and mannerisms!)
