Oh, I have a list of things I want to hire him to do. If he gets this job done. Which, so far so good; he doesn't seem baffled by the workings of a screen door, unlike the previous handyman.

Happy belated, sarameg!
Happy birthday, Sox!
In other news, I have scheduled an appointment for someone to come look at my crap and tell me how much it'll cost to move it with a corporate discount. I remembered to cancel my monthly transit pass before it reloaded for August. I'm going to take another load of stuff for donation on Saturday.
and the new door doesn't fit any better than old one did. ahahhaha
I knew it. Whatever. Just nail it in there. I don't even expect to be able to actually slide open the sliding door, I just want the cat kept in and the bugs kept out.
A curse upon the idiot guy who destroyed the original, perfectly working door. Nah, never mind, he's an idiot, there's nothing worse I can curse him with.
Happy birthdays, Sox & sara!!!
In case anyone was worried, the Professor is back to her old self! She just came up on the kitchen bar to say hi and jumped off the counter when I said "uh uh." Her brother will only leave the counter if I toss him off it or, sometimes, if I flick water on him. Then he gets right back up.
I can't believe it's almost 1. What did I do all morning??
Yay, Professor, way to bounce back!
A week ago a Flight for Life helicopter crashed, killing the pilot. Yesterday was the escort moving his body to the site for the memorial. Emergency Services vehicles lined the route and the overpasses in an emotional salute to the pilot and community. CJ's search and rescue team was invited to take over one of the overpasses along with a fire department. CJ said it was one of his most emotional experiences.
It sounds like an impressive tribute, Suzi.
Also, the news tells me Omar Shariff has died of a heart attack in Cairo.
Let me lighten this moment with a quick story. New job, I look up from my typewriter (you heard me) to see Omar Shariff! In my doorway! I am about to swoon when he opens his gorgeous mouth to ask, "Is (your boss) here?" in a voice reminiscent of Alvin the Chipmunk. Cognitive dissonance, I had it.
Happy Birthday, Sox!
Last day at the job. Only things left to do are to return library books & turn in keys and ID... with 3 and a half hours of work left.
Happy birthdays, Sox & Sara!
Happy Birthdays, Sox & Sara!
Calli, I think you should def. go for it.
That must be a strange feeling, Kiba.
I don't seem to have magically learned Powerpoint while I was not working on this presentation at all. Rats.
