And why did I just go check Mac's grades?!??! I am not supposed to check. I get an email every Friday. I have told him that if I get the email that he is failing anything tomorrow, even though I am out of town, he will lose computer and phone at the grand parents' and he is to not fight because those are the rules. He has a 51 in math and 2 classes in the high 70s that if there are any I posted low grades could get pulled down. FUCK!!!!

I've never used it, but I know it's popular with teenagers. As for the sexting stuff, do you think he's responsible enough to follow rules like "Don't accept messages from strangers" and "Let an adult know if someone asks you to send a photo"?

I don't use KIK, but some of the sketchier personals ads I've read lately seem to favor it as a method of communication. I'd give that one an Oh HELL No! for a teenager to be using.

I've never used KIK either, but I've talked about it with a friend who is a social worker and works with kids. She has concerns about sexual predators as well, mostly because tweens and teens often are lacking in impulse control and good judgement.
It's possible to use the app and be perfectly safe, but only if you turn on all the privacy settings, don't post your username anywhere, and don't respond to any messages from strangers who've guessed your username.
