Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, sure, pick a line that's actually relevant.

Maintain your house's electrical systems, people! Don;t let them sit with half-assed, probably un-permitted upgrades for 50 years!

ahahahahahaha I KNOW that's our house. And it has matching plumbing!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Nope, noping out on the fun and games tonight. Got there to find its a little hole-in-the-wall bar with zero parking - a handkerchief-size lot already stacked two deep with cars. No way I'm parking there and maybe getting stuck behind a stranger. I can overcome my normal kneejerk hermit reflex, but tonight is edge-of-a-meltdown and I just want to be home quiet and safe, not negotiating a new, rather uninviting space with new people. So I came home.

Also, wow, I'd forgotten how much rush hour traffic blows. Thank you, gods of employment, for blessing this hermit with telecommuting.

hip deep in pie

You know, when you get home and discover that your cat has missed the litterbox, and you clean that up, but you still smell poo? Trust your nose, there's more poo somewhere.

My nope-go-home instincts were spot on tonight, it seems. The friend I was going to meet also just cancelled, and the bar is closing early (for surprise inventory? sure) so the whole shindig has to move somewhere else. Also, it's raining kinda hard now (yay rain). Glad I came home. So there, hermit reflex ftw.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I wish our heatwave was over. 100 degrees today, and I live on the cool side of town. Pix and Kat must be roasting!

Two-thirds of the way through my annual review and I've hit a wall of tired. I just cranked the music and got some coffee. I desperately want to finish this so I can go home and not think about it anymore.

Good call, Zen.

Let your unfiltered id run amuck in the review, shrift! That seems like a really good idea to me right now.

It's only 104 today. Actually does feel cooler than yesterday. OTOH, the chocolate chips I ordered online that were delivered sometime today melted (inside their bag, inside a semi-insulated cardboard box, on my shaded-since-likely-delivery-time porch) before I got home. So.

Time for an Icelandic cocktail. A cocktail made with booze from Iceland, that is, although jaunting off to Iceland for cocktails would be excellent if anyone can arrange that. Shrimp cocktail and a bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge. I think I can avoid doing much of anything beyond sweating in front of the fan for a while....

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It's cooling down a little here. Temps in the 70s and low 80s, instead of the 90s? I'll take it.

So it's been hot and humid the past couple week until today. When it's like this, I tend to lose my appetite. Which has been true this time too. I've been in a bit of a deeper funk than usual. Step on scale.

Hmm, so some of it might be situational, but maybe part of it is that I've possibly been in a perpetual state of unrecognized hunger?!? Been subsisting pretty much on a pack of belvita biscuits, peach, handful of wheat thins and spinach, tomatoes and cuke salad daily. Maybe an occasional few slices of cheese.A bit shy on protein, no?

Thing is, can't make myself eat when it makes me pukey.

And this friends, is just another example of how I'm sucking at adulting lately.
