"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Two-thirds of the way through my annual review and I've hit a wall of tired. I just cranked the music and got some coffee. I desperately want to finish this so I can go home and not think about it anymore.

Good call, Zen.

Let your unfiltered id run amuck in the review, shrift! That seems like a really good idea to me right now.

It's only 104 today. Actually does feel cooler than yesterday. OTOH, the chocolate chips I ordered online that were delivered sometime today melted (inside their bag, inside a semi-insulated cardboard box, on my shaded-since-likely-delivery-time porch) before I got home. So.

Time for an Icelandic cocktail. A cocktail made with booze from Iceland, that is, although jaunting off to Iceland for cocktails would be excellent if anyone can arrange that. Shrimp cocktail and a bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge. I think I can avoid doing much of anything beyond sweating in front of the fan for a while....

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It's cooling down a little here. Temps in the 70s and low 80s, instead of the 90s? I'll take it.

So it's been hot and humid the past couple week until today. When it's like this, I tend to lose my appetite. Which has been true this time too. I've been in a bit of a deeper funk than usual. Step on scale.

Hmm, so some of it might be situational, but maybe part of it is that I've possibly been in a perpetual state of unrecognized hunger?!? Been subsisting pretty much on a pack of belvita biscuits, peach, handful of wheat thins and spinach, tomatoes and cuke salad daily. Maybe an occasional few slices of cheese.A bit shy on protein, no?

Thing is, can't make myself eat when it makes me pukey.

And this friends, is just another example of how I'm sucking at adulting lately.

Our wings are not tired.

My nope-go-home instincts were spot on tonight, it seems.

It may be wrong, but delighted that the whole thing went askew so that your bailing was vindicated. Good instincts there, Zen!

Tonight I am chilly in Otter Lake. Tomorrow night will be sweating in Delray Beach. Ah well. Also, watching a football game with my blinders wearing Patriot fan son is annoying. They have never and can never do any wrong. Always someone else's fault, refs usually. @@ forever.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Let your unfiltered id run amuck in the review, shrift! That seems like a really good idea to me right now.

Warning: that is rarely a good idea to someone not pounding the Icelandic cocktails.

PS, where can I get one of these Icelandic cocktails? Sounds delicious.

I have had one glass of wine and that's it. Really shouldn't feel this tipsy. I blame the 100 degree weather. And maybe the lack of sleep.

Oh, right, football starts tonight. I'm in denial because I have a conflict with my team's opener. That is how much I need to meet Sox; this is a non-trivial sacrifice, my friends. IJS.

Way to go msbelle!

I brought the bottles home from the Reykjavik airport, so, um, idk? But yes, delicious.

Contrasting with the super local (grown in the valley between here and Napa) white wine which is also pretty good. I'm pretty sure alcohol is objectively a bad idea in this heat, but it seems to be helping...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It may be wrong, but delighted that the whole thing went askew so that your bailing was vindicated. Good instincts there, Zen!

Well, you know, I don't want things to go badly for other peoples' fun, but if it's gonna, I appreciate getting a subspace wave from my instincts!
