You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Our wings are not tired.

I haven't been depressed about the eventual outcome of the election because I have always believed my girl would win. What has been really hard on me is to figure out a way to deal with the otherwise sane family and friends that support Trump. I just can't look at them the same way, and that makes me sad.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yeah, Laura. I felt physically sick today just seeing Trump bumper stickers and yard signs. I try to avoid the subject with family.

And their desperation at this point is so upsetting. I just completely ignore them because I can't directly respond anymore. They believe he is going to win.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Y'all, I think maybe this election cycle is having a negative effect on my mental health.

Yeah, you're not alone. I'm really looking forward to being on the other side of the world to escape from it a little.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think it's Trump that's messing me up, not so much fear of him possibly winning. All the reports of sexual assault and the way some awful people are responding to them. (Whatever the truth may be, hearing about Bill's affairs never hit me this way.) I'm shaking, on the verge of tears and barely able to concentrate, constantly. My nerves are so short I can't stand noise. I don't want to leave the house. This is bad.

I don't have anyone to talk to. I see the new shrink again in a week. Just hold on, I guess, what else can I do?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I only know about this because they sponsor podcasts, but some online therapy could get you through to your shrink appointment? [link]

I'll think about that, Jesse, thanks. I never heard of them before!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

There's also something called 7 Cups of Tea that's an online (and/or app-based) therapy thing, but I've never tried them, either.

Baking opinions needed: I'm making a cake right now for a shindig tomorrow night. It gets a glaze (made with powdered sugar and a little milk) drizzled over it. Normally I make a cake and it gets eaten the same day. But since it's not getting eaten for almost 24 hours, should I wait until tomorrow to put the glaze on? I'm afraid if I do it tonight the cake will get soggy. Or is that crazy?
