Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Baking opinions needed: I'm making a cake right now for a shindig tomorrow night. It gets a glaze (made with powdered sugar and a little milk) drizzled over it. Normally I make a cake and it gets eaten the same day. But since it's not getting eaten for almost 24 hours, should I wait until tomorrow to put the glaze on? I'm afraid if I do it tonight the cake will get soggy. Or is that crazy?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Maria, much ~ma to Lucky. I hope she'll be all right.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Tep, I'd glaze tonight. Unless it's a crazy amount of glaze, it should just set up nicely.

Maria, best of luck for Lucky.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Thank you all for the ~ma. Keep it coming.

Lucky will be staying in the hospital until at least this evening. She shows improvement, but she's still wobbly. She ate all of her food, and has urinated (theoretically in the litter box), so there's that, but she's not like she was. We don't know if she ever will be.

The vet has ruled out heart issues. Her BP is slightly elevated, and her chronic kidney disease is probably the biggest contributing factor to the stroke. She can't rule out a brain tumor, but her symptoms are not suggestive of one, and it would take a CT scan to diagnose. A tumor would require surgical intervention as well, and I'm not willing to put a 15 year old cat through that. She won't have the same quality of life as before--which has me in tears--but the vet is confident she's got enough left in her to come home.

She's the best cat. Lucky acts more like a dog--knows her name, comes when called, sits on command for a treat, begs for belly rubs--and it's breaking my heart that her personality might not be the same again.

To complicate things, we're getting a puppy in 10 days. I don't want it to be difficult on any of them.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, poor Lucky and poor you!
