Dear god, I am so impatient to be in my new place, to be sitting in my new reading chair, music on low, with the first snowstorm of the season slowly piling up on my balcony, and me not having to worry about managing it. I've been longing for this my entire life.

When do you move, Connie?

I sign the lease next weekend, then begins the process of actually physically moving things. I give up responsibility for the old place on Halloween, but I figure I'll be sleeping at the new place mid-month. I just have this absolute terror of the furnace in the old place blowing up the first time it starts up every year. It's supposed to be in the 30s tomorrow night, and the thermostat doesn't actually turn off so the thing will turn on if it gets cold enough.

Oh, Mac. I admire your hustle, kid, but you need a better, more sustainable business model.

Gotta learn to work within existing regulations and the standards of the community. And remember that Mom is always a stakeholder.

Dear god, I don't want to be coming down with a cold. But one side of my face is producing a ridiculous amount of snot since about noon today. Two days after a neighborhood get together, including teachers, odds not in my favor.

I think I've found the episode where the GBBO people lost their collective minds. "Make a fancy cake! 3D! From vegetables! And no dairy!"

Oh mac. On the bright side, he's doing homework good enough to sell! Now he just needs to figure out that the more sustainable business plan is the grind, rather than the flashier route to riches. (Donald Trump is NOT a role model, mac!)

I left work early mostly because fuck that, and I am pretty pleased with my decision.

So much this. I was in training for the last three days, and then at 8 am I got a crown. So I have no shame about leaving the office at 3:30, and taking a nice long nap when I got home.

Now I need to do laundry. Possibly drink a beer while reading on the porch; it's supposed to be really warm this weekend.

I left work a little early myself, although I was almost the last one in the office when I bailed. Have redonned muumuu #1 which I only wore for about half an hour yesterday and felt deserved more wearing time and am enjoying a glass of wine and the October Asimov's on the patio. I even took my Fitbit off, that's how dedicated I am to kicking back for a while.

I forgot my closet light deglobed when I was rushing around for neighbor night weds. I just found the globe in front of the bathroom. I guess one of the cats got really bored? (And frankly, pretty impressive. Not cat toylike at all.)

So, I'm using my good crystal, because I can, and I always thought these wine glasses were huge, but when I put one on the scale and measure how much I pour in by weight, because that's how I roll, 5 ounces looks very reasonable in it. Huh.
