I forgot my closet light deglobed when I was rushing around for neighbor night weds. I just found the globe in front of the bathroom. I guess one of the cats got really bored? (And frankly, pretty impressive. Not cat toylike at all.)

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
So, I'm using my good crystal, because I can, and I always thought these wine glasses were huge, but when I put one on the scale and measure how much I pour in by weight, because that's how I roll, 5 ounces looks very reasonable in it. Huh.
I took a stemless telescope-event-monogrammed wineglass to the neighborhood wine night this week. Three less-than-half-glasses later,I'd demolished 1.5 L of vihno verde. I had no idea. And I was only mildly tipsy.
Dang. That's a big-ass glass.
At least it was a vinho verde and not a fruit-bomb zinfandel. You'd be staggering.
I'm not in the mood for beer, so I opened a cheap bottle of rose and I'm drinking it with an ice-cube in it (oh the horrors). Next up: GBBO -- pastry week!
Dunno if y'all heard, but the cast moving on with the show is down to Paul Hollywood: Mary Berry just announced she's staying with the BBC.
Own that ice cube!
I wrote a poem that included the line "we order our sushi with wine on the rocks" when I was in high school, and I remain proprietarily fond of the concept.
I'm drinking a cab, btw. It's kind of meh - not bad, but not terrific.
Base was deceptively wide. And I have a pretty high tolerance (which is weird in its own way. VV is lower alcohol, but even twice that, I mighta graduated to tipsy. Maybe.)
All right, I just finished a learning module in my Professional Certification course, so this means I can make a gin and tonic and watch TV.
Dang. That's a big-ass glass.
Big Carl Sagan.
Brava, shrift!
The dog-sitter (my niece, who is building a pretty good sideline in house-sitting) left a small portion of mocha chip ice cream in the freezer, so that was dessert. OTOH, she also didn't run the dishwasher, didn't put out the garbage, didn't bring in the mail, and did a surprisingly poor job washing the pots she'd used. I had to rewash three of them.
Yay for the ice cream, anyway.
Now I shall return to my regularly-scheduled GBBO. (I may try to make a Bakewell Tart this weekend, it looks pretty simple.)
