That reminds me of one of the stories my dad told this past weekend about when he was doing quality assurance part-time (testing phosphoric acid for arsenic content before it was sold to Coke) when he was in college. The guy who was on the other shift (who was also a student) wouldn't run any of the tests, he'd just record every sample as being on spec, so my dad would get in trouble for having real data with some samples off spec, and his father (my grandfather) also worked there so the boss would have all three of them into his office so he could yell at my dad.
Amazingly enough, Dad went on to head a QA department later on rather than running away from the whole field.
Shocked and sad about the shocking and sad news on Facebook.
I believe Joe is coming this way to announce in Beep Me. Very sad but also determined to be supportive through such a difficult time for everyone.
The thing I posted about twitter, posting that stuff. no need to continue, they pulled that as task.
So, for those not on Facebook:
It is with sadness and regret that we must announce the SuperFun Conat Family Hour Variety Show has been cancelled.
In real-world talk, that means Aimee and I are getting divorced.
The split is amicable. Aimee will be moving to a nearby apartment at the end of the month.
Our priority, as always, is Emeline. She seems to be taking it as well as can be expected.
We appreciate your love and support during this time.
I just spent the last ten minutes waiting for the Just Kidding. Gosh.
Joe, Aimee, of course all the love and support is yours as needed. I divorced from my first husband. Although it was the right decision, and we remained friends as long as he lived, it sucks mightily. Hugs to all of you.
ION, I am missing a decade in my memories. People will talk about thing that happened in the 90s, and I'll go "No, that was the 80s, that was a long time ago." And those people will give the puzzled dog look and say "But the 90s were a long time ago." "No, they were just--20 years ago, huh."
There are huge swaths of time that are a blob in my memory. That whole bit where I stopped being a 30 something and became a 50 something. Do not like.
I'm sorry, Joe and Aimee. I hope the transition goes as smoothly as possible for Emeline and for you.
